Job Description and Duties

Under supervision of the Codes and Standards Administrator I, the Staff Services Analyst (SSA) performs analytical work on a broad range of operational needs as well as consultative and analytical staff services tasks or assignments. The SSA acts as a liaison between the Codes and Standards Main Office, Northern Area Office, and the Legal Affairs Division for Public Records Act requests. The incumbent is responsible for interpretation and application of laws, regulations, and policies pertaining to the Mobilehome Parks, Special Occupancy Parks, Employee Housing, and Manufactured Housing Acts (Acts) regarding fee collection, statistical collection, and reporting, CASAS data entry, and responding to public questions relative to the above.

This position requires the employee to report to the Northern Area Office five (5) days a week. This is subject to change if HCD's criteria is met. The Northern Area Office is located at 9342 Tech Center Drive, Sacramento, CA 95826 and is close to light rail and has free parking.

Statement of Qualifications (SOQ)

Interested individuals must submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) in addition to the standard state application (form STD 678). Your SOQ will be considered the first interview for this position. If your qualifications are competitive, you will be invited to a formal interview. Resumes, cover letters, or any other documents cannot substitute the SOQ . When completing the SOQ, number your responses , include all relevant experience, education, and training, as applicable, and explain all answers thoroughly. Your SOQ should not exceed two pages, single-spaced, Arial 12-point font and address the following :

  1. Describe your experience gathering and tracking information for PRA or complaints. Please include what tools you use.
  2. Describe your experience with prioritizing multiple assignments with strict deadlines. Provide specific examples.
