Our client is seeking a dedicated Java Developer to join their dynamic team. This hybrid role, based in Chicago, offers the opportunity to contribute to each phase of the software development lifecycle, from developing software to designing and implementing systems according to standards, and creating automated tests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop moderately complex to complex systems, applications, and solutions, considering technology or platform impact
- Code applications using a disciplined development process, adhering to security best practices
- Perform code documentation, source code versioning, and maintenance
- Design and implement Continuous Integration (CI)/Continuous Delivery/Deployment (CD) pipelines to improve software development efficiency and quality
- Perform reliable automated test cases in partnership with Quality Engineers to ensure application quality and stability
- Lead the installation, configuration, upgrades, and migration of software, systems, and resources in various environments
- Implement enhancements to improve reliability, security, and performance for smaller/mid-sized projects
- Participate in peer review sessions, providing and receiving constructive feedback for technical deliverables
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in Java Spring Framework (Spring MVC, etc.)
- Experience with Oracle Database (PL/SQL, Stored Procedures, etc.)
- Expertise in REST API development
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with Maven
- Experience with Java application servers (e.g., WebSphere, WildFly, etc.)
- CI/CD experience (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, etc.)
- Knowledge of Selenium
