Job Description

Kickstart Accounting, Inc. is an accounting firm specializing in helping business owners understand their financials through bookkeeping, financial analysis and strategic support.

Our growing accounting firm is seeking a Human Resources Assistant. This position will be working directly with the Operations Manager on HR activities.

Technical skills: Word, Excel, SharePoint, and overall technologically savvy. MUST have prior experience in HR for small businesses.

Position Overview  

  • We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized HR Assistant to support our growing team. The ideal candidate will assist with the day-to-day HR operations, ensuring smooth processes and an exceptional employee experience. 

Key Responsibilities  

  • Adaptable Support : Assist in recruitment, onboarding, and other HR processes, shifting focus as organizational needs evolve. 
  • Process Management : Maintain employee records, ensure compliance with policies, and provide general support for HR-related initiatives. Assist in benefits administration and respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures. 
  • Employee Engagement : Build positive relationships with team members, driving company culture from the recruiting process through offboarding. 
  • Team Support: Coordinate training sessions, employee engagement initiatives, and performance review processes. 
  • Compliance Management : Support multi-state compliance efforts by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of employment laws and regulations across jurisdictions. Ensure HR policies and practices meet state-specific requirements. 
  • Ensure confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.  

Qualifications  

  • Proven experience in an HR role 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills. 
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR software/tools. 
  • High level of confidentiality and attention to detail. 
  • A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt.
