Wastewater Electrical Instrumentation Technician I
Adenus Utilities Group provides decentralized wastewater treatment and disposal and currently in search of talented electrical/ instrumentation techs.
Job Summary:
Performs skilled work on electrical and instrumentation equipment in wastewater treatment plants and collection systems. This position involves maintaining, repairing, and calibrating a variety of instruments and control systems, ensuring the efficient and safe operation of the wastewater treatment process.
Responsibilities:
Instrumentation and Control Systems: Install, maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of electrical and instrumentation equipment, including:
- Flow meters, pressure sensors, level transducers, level switches,
- Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems
- Motors, pumps, generators, controllers, switchboards, and electrical circuits
- Telemetry systems for lift stations and other remote equipment
Electrical Systems: Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems, including:
- Power distribution systems, Control panels
- Motor controls, VFDs
- Circuit breakers and relays
Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose and resolve malfunctions in electrical and instrumentation systems.
Calibration: Calibrate instrumentation and control systems to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Preventive Maintenance: Participate in the development and implementation of preventive maintenance programs.
Documentation: Maintain records of maintenance activities, including service reports and calibration data.
Safety: Adhere to safety policies and procedures, including confined space entry and electrical safety protocols.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or GED is required, and vocational training or an Associate's Degree in a related field is preferred.
Experience: Relevant experience in electrical and instrumentation maintenance and repair, preferably in a wastewater treatment facility.
Technical Skills: Knowledge of electrical theory, instrumentation, process control, troubleshooting techniques, and the use of various tools and test equipment.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Valid driver's license.
- ISA- CCST Electrical and Instrumentation Technician certification (or ability to obtain) is desirable.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, carrying, bending, and climbing.
- Ability to work in a plant environment with exposure to various environmental conditions, including chemicals, odors, and noise.
Working Conditions :
- May be required to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and respond to emergencies.
- Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, with potential exposure to adverse weather conditions.
