Field Superintendent Wage: $41.60 per hour plus a work truck
Full time position: 50 hour per week
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Reports to Project Manager
PSC Construction is seeking a full-time Underground Utility Field Superintendent to lead and manage projects on heavy industrial and private projects.
Essential Functions - Frequently use hands and talk/hear
- Frequently read from a computer screen
- Occasionally work in a quiet office setting
- Ability to see color
- Frequently lift, bend, stoop, climb, and jump
- Continuous driving automotive equipment
- Being near machinery
- Changes in temperature
- Working regularly around dirt and dust
- Walk long distances and stand long periods of time
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Reasoning, math, and language
- Make independent judgements
- Occasional travel
Job Description - Supervision of subcontractors
- Purchasing of materials needed for jobsite
- Manpower assessment
- Daily time and progress reporting
- Client interactions
- Employee or equipment issues
- Weekly work forecast
- Walk and talks for upcoming projects
- Maintaining schedule
- Ensure correct equipment and materials are on the job
- Attend appropriate meetings
- Conduct toolbox talks and core values of the day
- Make sure task are being completed to clients’ specs
- Handling customers issues
- Provide prints and contact info to foreman
- Establish daily and weekly goals with foreman
- Site communication with safety
- Make sure work is done in a safe and productive manner
- Enforce a safe work environment and practices
Requirements - Mandatory background and drug screening
- Three to five years’ civil construction experience
- OSHA 30hr certified
- Ability to manage, motivate, and coach a crew of 8-10 people daily
- Basic computer knowledge with Microsoft Office products
- Effectively and consistently enforce all company policies
- Reading and understanding topographic detail, grade stakes, and ability to transfer grade stakes
- Understanding of volume calculations and tracking
- Work with crew foreman to efficiently complete project on time, and within budget with a proven track record
- Proficient in operation of various types of heavy equipment
- Ability to read and understand soil reports, testing requirements, plans, and specifications
- Attend all safety training and management meetings
- Communicate effectively with Project Managers to ensure projects success
