Job Description

Sales Training Specialist/Sales Trainer

Our manufacturing client, located about 1-hour NW of Philadelphia, PA is seeking a Sales Training Specialist/Sales Trainer to play a pivotal role in enhancing the skills and performance of their sales team. The Sales Trainer will partner with sales management to design, develop, and deliver comprehensive training programs that align with the company’s sales strategies and objectives. This role will equip the sales designers with the knowledge, tools, and techniques required to drive revenue growth. This position is ONSITE and reports directly to the Director of Sales.

 

Sales Training Specialist/Sales Trainer Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Training Program Development:
    • Design and develop comprehensive sales training programs, including new hire onboarding, product knowledge, sales techniques, and soft skills.
    • Collaborate with sales leadership to identify training needs and tailor programs to address skill gaps and improve performance.
    • Continuously update training content to reflect changes in products, market trends, and sales strategies.
  • Training Delivery:
    • Conduct engaging and interactive training sessions in both classroom and virtual environments.
    • Facilitate role-playing exercises, sales simulations, and other hands-on activities to reinforce learning.
    • Provide individualized coaching and feedback to sales representatives to help them apply training concepts to real-world scenarios.
  • Performance Monitoring :
    • Assess the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics.
    • Track the progress of sales representatives and provide ongoing support to ensure continuous improvement.
    • Work closely with sales managers to monitor team performance and address any issues related to sales skills or knowledge.
    • Call Calibration
  • Sales Enablement :
    • Develop and maintain a repository of sales resources, including scripts, presentations, and best practices.
    • Ensure that sales teams have access to the latest tools, technologies, and information needed to succeed.
    • Collaborate with marketing, engineering, and product teams to ensure alignment between sales training and overall business goals.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay current with industry trends, sales techniques, and best practices in sales training.
    • Gather feedback from trainees and stakeholders to continuously improve training programs and delivery methods.
    • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance training skills and knowledge.

Sales Training Specialist/Sales Trainer Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communication, instructional design or a related field.
  • Experience in the construction, home products or remodeling space is highly preferred.
  • 3-5 years of Sales experience, preferably in a B2C call center environment
  • 3-5 years of experience as a trainer
  • Ability to conduct training both in-person and via Microsoft Teams for remote employees.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook), Adobe, Salesforce with an interest and ability to learn new technical software as needed.
  • Exceptional administrative, organizational, communication and writing skills.
  • Demonstrated project management, multi-tasking, analytical thinking, and planning skills with a deadline orientation and focus.
  • Experience analyzing data to present to leadership teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization and with external customers.
  • The passion, energy, and drive to thrive in a fast-paced, time-driven environment.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to convert complex content into clear easy-to-understand instructional material.
