Red Hat Engineer

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Red Hat Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for deploying, managing, and maintaining Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems, ensuring security, performance, and reliability of critical applications. The engineer will also engage in automation, configuration management, and support containerized environments.

Active DoD TS/SCI clearance is a requirement for this position.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy and manage Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems
• Implement and maintain security measures including FIPS and SELinux
• Automate system configurations and deployments using Ansible, Puppet, and Chef
• Manage package installations and updates using RH Satellite and standard package management tools
• Develop Linux shell scripts and Python scripts for automation and system management
• Support virtualization technologies including KVM, VMWare, and Hyper-V
• Ensure compliance with DISA STIG security standards
• Monitor and optimize system performance and resource usage
• Manage networking concepts including DNS, NFS, and host firewalls
• Oversee containerization technologies such as Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, and OpenShift
• Implement storage management strategies including LVM, RAID, SAN, and NAS configurations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in Linux System Administration
• Strong knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and related technologies
• Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
• Familiarity with container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes and OpenShift
• Proficiency in Linux shell scripting, Bash, and Python programming
• Knowledge of security hardening practices and DISA STIG compliance
• Experience with virtualization technologies (KVM, VMWare, Hyper-V)
• Strong understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, and NFS
• Certifications such as RHCE and RHCSA are highly desirable
• A current TS/SCI security clearance is preferred
