Job Title: Physical Therapist Assistant

Location: Passaic County, NJ

Shift: Day 09:00 AM - 05:00 PM

Working Days:  Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri

Contract Length: 13 Weeks

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Physical Therapist (PT) in administering various physical therapy treatments to residents.
• Help patients restore function, prevent disability, and improve mobility to achieve maximum performance.
• Provide therapeutic exercises, muscle reeducation, gait training, and coordination activities as per the prescribed therapy plan.
• Observe and document patient responses to treatments, noting improvements or lack of progress.
• Use specialized physical therapy equipment and modalities, ensuring proper application and function.
• Educate patients on corrective exercises, functional training, and rehabilitation techniques.
• Assist in maintaining safety measures while conducting therapy sessions.

Skills and Experience:

• Must possess a valid and current Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license issued by the New Jersey Board of Physical Therapy.
• Understanding of physical therapy standards, principles, and commonly used equipment.
• Ability to perform muscle reeducation, corrective exercises, gait training, and coordination therapy.
• Strong observational skills to track patient progress and document outcomes accurately.
• Nursing staff must work every other weekend as part of the contract.

Preferred:

Previous travel contract experience is a plus.

Certification & License:

Physical Therapist Assistant by the New Jersey State Board of Physical Therapists
