ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This Mid Level Environmental Remediation Engineer will report to and receive mentoring from senior PE Licensed environmental staff, and perform various tasks including but not limited to:
- Environmental field activities, including operations and maintenance and troubleshooting of remediation systems and/or construction oversight.
- Subcontractor/vendor evaluation, selection, procurement, and oversight.
- Understand engineering plans and specifications.
- Prepare and/or review work plans, reports, and other technical documents.
- Prepare and/or review feasibility studies and remediation design and/or development.
- Prepare cost estimates for various remediation activities.
- Permit and maintain permit compliance for air, water, and soil with local, state, and federal
- Compile, evaluate, analyze, and present engineering calculations and evaluations.
- Direct and mentor junior staff.
- Ability to support and/or lead more complex remediation projects with senior oversight.
- Support proposal preparation.
MID LEVEL ENVIRONMENTAL REMEDIATION ENGINEER JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of a Bachelors of Science in environmental engineering, civil engineering, mechanical engineering or chemical engineering
5+ years of environmental engineering / environmental consulting industry experience.
Minimum of E.I.T. certification is required so long as you are working towards obtaining your P.E. registration.
Current P.E. registration is a plus
Safety training, including OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPPER, 8-hr Supervisor, and 30-hr Construction Safety
USACE Construction Quality Management Training.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with MS Word, Excel, CAD, and MS Project.
Ability to work well independently and in a project team in a fast paced environment and self-manage a task schedule and budget.
Hands on environmental field experience with operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of remediation systems, and overseeing subcontractors as a field engineer/site safety health officer lead.
Environmental Engineering and Remediation experience with design/implementation of soil vapor extraction, air sparging, pump and treat, in-situ chemical oxidation, in-situ bioremediation projects.
Experience writing environmental project work plans, reports, and other technical documents.
