Job Description

The Leasing Consultant reports directly to the Property Manager and is responsible for leasing, marketing, and maintaining positive resident relations for multi-family residential properties. In this role, they assist with site operations, ensure the property is well-maintained, provide a quality living environment, and foster positive relationships with residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Administration:

  • Understand lease agreements and credit report applications.
  • Accept rental payments
  • Assist in lease transactions, including typing leases and gathering applicant history.
  • Provide general clerical support (e.g., answering phones, filing, typing).
  • Track commission sheets for leases and renewals

Marketing/Leasing:

  • Greet and qualify prospective tenants, maintaining accurate guest card records.
  • Conduct property tours, highlight amenities, and close sales.
  • Process applications, perform credit and rental checks, and type leases.
  • Ensure apartments are ready for move-ins on time.
  • Follow up with prospects and distribute renewal notices.

Resident Relations:

  • Address resident inquiries, complaints, and service requests.
  • Follow up with maintenance to ensure repairs are completed.
  • Assist in planning and hosting resident events.
  • Enforce community policies and maintain consistency in resident interactions.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist with special projects, training, and other activities as directed by the Property Manager.
  • Participate in company committees or functions as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of customer service experience (retail, real estate, hospitality, etc.), with 6+ months of apartment leasing experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and sales ability
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high accuracy.
  • Must have good mobility to tour properties, use repetitive hand motions, and meet vision and communication requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and property management software (MRI preferred).
  • Ability to work weekends and travel as required.
