Job Description

Duties

  • Responsible for troubleshooting and diagnosing all hardware, software, network failures, and providing a solution for IT service request elevated to the assigned tier.
  • Responsible for receiving, imaging, inventory, and deployment of all new and life-cycle replacement systems.
  • Actively supports daily operations and sustainment of enterprise configuration management.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Information Technology Management Series located here.



BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:

This standard allows eligibility through meeting either the requirements specified in the section titled Education or the requirements specified in the section titled Experience .

Education: All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions

Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year, or will have one year within 120 days of closing of this announcement, at the next lower pay band NH-01, grade GS-04, or equivalent in other pay system. Specialized experience is knowledge level of LAN/WAN and system principles, techniques and practices sufficiently to install, configure, and troubleshoot client systems and components; Assist in the planning, operation, and maintenance of a LAN/WAN, including the installation and implementation of enhancements. As well as knowledge level of systems principles and techniques, enterprise IT architecture and new IT technologies, (e.g. cyber operations, prototypes, pilots, and operational applications).


Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
