DLP Staffing is currently accepting applications for the position of:
POSITION TITLE: Import Clerk
Location: Del Rio, TX
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Hire Pay: $13 to $15 an hour
Classification: Full-Time

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Import/ Export Clerk is responsible for handling activities and processes that regulate the supply chain, related to international shipping, by ensuring that all outbound shipments are correctly processed. The Import/Export Clerk oversees shipments from start to finish and monitors their progress throughout the journey. Duties include entering orders received, reviewing shipping costs, as well as managing shipping schedules by coordinating and arranging various modes of transportation for all outbound shipments, preparing, and sending out correct documentation to clear customs, and maintaining clear and accurate records in the company’s computer database.


JOB SUMMARY:

• Preparation of essential shipping documentation daily.
• Following up and updating customers on their import/export shipments.
• Communicating with steamship lines, terminals, customs brokers, truckers, and overseas agents.
• Ensuring all shipment documentation complies with customs rules and regulations.
• Calculating weight, volume, and cost of goods being moved.
• Coordinating release and entry processing for ocean and air import shipments, including U.S. Customs and Border Protection, coordinating freight releases, and arranging final delivery if needed.
• Use the company's internal system.
• Maintain effective relationships with clients, carriers, forwarders, customs, etc.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
The principal duties of this position are performed in an indoor and outdoor environment.

• Ability to maintain accurate records.
• Must have good oral/written skills and organizational skills.

• Ability to collaborate with others to analyze and solve issues.
• Ability to work independently.
• Must have basic computer skills.
• Must speak fluent English/Spanish.
• Must pass a background check.
