We are looking for a passionate Full Stack Software Engineer to work for our New York - based client. For this role, we only process candidates that are based in the Philippines and have legal authorization to work in the Philippines.

About the role

We're looking for a strong Full Stack/Backend Engineer to join our team. If your aspiration is to become a VP of Engineering one day, we'd love to help you get there. If you'd rather stay heads-down, building products for the foreseeable future great. Either way, the latter will be your primary focus in the near term.

We are an investing app for Gen Z. We are seeking a talented engineer to work directly with the founding team to develop and implement our backend systems and iOS app. We are looking for an ambitious, fast-moving, and creative individual who is passionate about addressing customer needs to build the best investing experience for the next generation.

This may not be the right role for you if you are uncomfortable with any of the following:

1. Trying to anticipate and predict customer needs on your own.
2. Working across different parts of the stack.
3. Being pushed to constantly learn new skill sets.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with the founders and lead designer to define the product roadmap, reporting directly to the CTO.
• Help shape and implement the overall product roadmap.
• Write clean, performant production-level code with rigorous unit tests.
• Take ownership of the backend this will be your primary responsibility, but you'll also implement end-to-end features as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of full-stack or backend software development experience.
• Excellent communication skills are essential.
• Strong grounding in CS fundamentals you have the broad-based knowledge needed to build a collaborative, client-server application end to end. You're eager to pick up new platforms and skills along the way, and you find that process enjoyable.
• A passion for delivering delightful, polished frontends. You don't need to be a designer, but you enjoy collaborating with designers and appreciate the effort that goes into achieving polish and delight.
• Interest in product strategy, a desire to collaborate, alignment with our values, and a good sense of humor. You're comfortable giving and receiving respectful, constructive feedback.
• Experience working at small startups (preferred but not required)
