Fiber Splicer
Location: Must live within 1 hour of Monroe, NC
Pay: Based on experience
Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week) with rotating on-call shifts, including some weekends
About the Role
We are seeking a Fiber Splicer to join our team and support the maintenance and expansion of our telecommunications network. In this role, you will be responsible for splicing and testing fiber optic cables to ensure seamless data transmission. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys hands-on technical work and problem-solving.
Responsibilities
-Perform fiber splicing for aerial and underground cables with guidance
-Test, activate, and troubleshoot circuits after installation
-Ensure all work meets customer and industry standards
-Work safely at various heights, from underground installations to aerial setups
-Perform basic vehicle maintenance, including fluid checks
-Document daily work, including marking maps and tracking material usage
-Respond to after-hours call-outs as needed
-Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
-18 years or older with authorization to work in the U.S.
-High School Diploma, GED, or relevant work experience
-Valid state driver’s license (non-provisional) with an acceptable driving record
-Ability to pass a DOT physical exam and obtain a valid medical card
-At least 6 months of fiber splicing experience or 1 year of experience in telecommunications
-Knowledge of telecommunications network structure
