Bookkeeper with Payroll Experience

Location: Remote (Texas-Based) or In-Office (Cleburne, TX)

Estes Armstrong Earley LLC is a growing and client-focused accounting firm providing tax, bookkeeping, and financial advisory services to businesses and individuals across Texas and the southern US. We are expanding our team and seeking an experienced Bookkeeper with Payroll Expertise to support our clients. This position offers the flexibility to work remotely (Texas-based) or in our Cleburne, TX office.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper with at least five years of experience in bookkeeping and payroll processing. The ideal candidate should be proficient in QuickBooks Online, have strong organizational skills, and be able to manage multiple client accounts.

Responsibilities:

• Process payroll for multiple clients and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Prepare and file payroll tax reports (941, 940, state filings, etc.).
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements.
• Maintain accurate financial records and general ledgers.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Communicate with clients to gather necessary financial data and resolve discrepancies.
• Work closely with CPAs and accountants on financial reporting and tax preparation.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of bookkeeping and payroll experience (preferably in a CPA or accounting firm).
• Strong knowledge of QuickBooks Online.
• Familiarity with payroll laws, tax reporting, and compliance.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
