About the Role
As a Pre-Approval Specialist (PAL Specialist), you'll be the first point of contact for customers interested in obtaining a mortgage pre-approval or purchasing a new home. You'll work closely with licensed Purchase Loan Officers, assisting with gathering essential information and providing an outstanding customer experience. This role is a great entry point into the mortgage industry, offering hands-on training and career growth opportunities.
What You'll Do
Communicate with customers via phone, email, and text to gather necessary loan information.
Guide customers through the pre-approval process and answer any initial questions.
Educate both customers and Loan Officers on the next steps in the mortgage process.
Follow up with customers and Loan Officers to ensure all required documents are received.
Set realistic expectations for loan timelines and approvals.
Input customer data into the system with accuracy.
Assist customers in completing electronic consent and signing processes.
Review credit reports with customers and provide guidance on the next steps.
Maintain follow-up communication with pre-approved customers to offer additional support.
What We're Looking For
Prior experience in customer service, sales, or a call center environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
A friendly, professional, and outgoing personality.
Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced setting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Passion for helping customers achieve their financial and homeownership goals.
Experience in the mortgage or real estate industry is a plus but not required.
Requirements
Must have passed the NMLS Safe Exam before starting (assistance with licensing information is available).
High school diploma or equivalent (some college coursework preferred).
At least one year of sales or customer service experience.
Must be able to work onsite in Charlotte, NC.
Compensation & Benefits
Up to $20/hour (paid biweekly)
$1,000 sign-on bonus after 30 days of employment
Full-time position (Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week)

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This is an in-office position located in Charlotte, NC.
The role requires prolonged sitting and working at a computer.
Occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs.
