The Opportunity MLT's Marketing & Communications team is seeking a strong Creative Design Manager who is broadly skilled at graphic design, creative direction and strategy . The Creative Design Manager role requires the ability to develop strategy, manage marketing projects, and produce a variety of creative deliverables . This person must also possess the ability to simultaneously engage with multiple internal and external partners including colleagues working on other teams, marketing reps from MLT business partners, and contracted vendors who support our work. The Creative Design Manager collaborates with key stakeholders on our Partnerships, Programs, Research, Development, Alumni, and Events teams to develop brand-compliant design elements that support MLT's new and ongoing initiatives. We seek a creative thinker who appreciates the different approaches to developing content that resonates with MLT's various constituencies: from Alumni, to business partners, to a wide variety of stakeholders who support MLT's mission. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, keenly aware of current events to quickly develop fresh and relevant content, and is energized by engaging with MLT's community as we work toward our vision of empowering the next generation of diverse leaders and transforming society. This position is hybrid, which requires location in the DMV area, and reports to the Senior Director of Marketing & Communications. Responsibilities
- Manage multiple design projects, adhering to timelines and meeting deadlines.
- Understand project requirements, objectives, and target audience in collaboration with the Marketing team.
- Uphold and maintain the organization's brand (written and visual) in conjunction with the AD of Communications.
- Provide creative vision, direction, and management of freelance/in-house designers, ensuring brand consistency.
- Create engaging and high-quality content across various digital platforms. This includes branded assets for digital (social media posts, email, website content, video) and print (brochures, logos, etc.).
- Collaborate with program and business development teams on presentations and insights reports.
- Design seasonal research reports in collaboration with Marketing and Insights teams.
- Develop graphics, layouts, and multimedia for proposals, presentations, and business development, and program materials in collaboration with the AD of Marketing.
- Support the development and execution of digital content strategies aligned with the organization's marketing goals and target audience.
- Create large-scale graphics for organizational events.
- Manage and maintain the organization's website content, ensuring it is up-to-date, accurate, and optimized for search engines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and create compelling digital content that aligns with brand guidelines.
- Collaborate with design and multimedia teams to develop visual assets and multimedia content that enhances the overall digital content experience.
- Manage the Marketing team's knowledge resources on a routine basis (Slab).
- Serve as administrator of organizational Canva subscription, including managing team licenses and providing training to internal team representatives.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree is required
- 3-5 years experience with Adobe Creative Suite and other essential graphic design tools
- Proficiency in WordPress
- Familiarity with animation and motion graphics
- Digital Asset Management experience with metadata and archiving
- Knowledge of data visualization and representation in graphic design
- Basic knowledge of creative copyright, trademark and license requirements
