Contract Manager

Salary: $110,000-140,000 (dependent on experience)

Location: Bakersfield, California (Hybrid)

Position Overview
We are looking for a strong Contract Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of contract administration for construction projects. This role involves ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, optimizing contract terms, and facilitating communication between stakeholders to mitigate risks and enhance project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, review, and finalize construction agreements to align with company objectives.
• Assess potential risks in contracts and ensure adherence to company policies and legal guidelines.
• Provide guidance to teams and leaders on key contract terms and conditions.
• Act as the main contact for discussions with clients and stakeholders to ensure smooth contract execution.
• Work closely with internal departments to integrate contracts into overall project workflows effectively.
• Keep detailed records of agreements and provide regular updates on contract progress and performance.
• Oversee a team managing contract amendments, bond acquisition, and liability releases.
• Improve the contract process by developing templates, tools, and streamlined procedures.
• Address inquiries and proactively communicate with managers and project leaders about contract-related risks.
• Collaborate with safety leadership to ensure compliance with required safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in contract management within the construction industry.
• Experience in cradle to grave negotiation
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, contract law, and administration practices.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency in contract management software and tools, with strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Experience in financial analysis related to contract profitability and budget management.
• A broad understanding of business cases and awareness of financial and analytical considerations, including profit and loss impacts.

Nice to Have: 

• Background in handling electrical construction agreements.
• Knowledge of master service agreements and financing for construction projects.
