This position administers Psychological testing in support of Behavioral Health care and treatment. Location• Perform basic assessment procedures utilizing therapeutic assessment and interview skills to elicit accurate and concise account of the patient's condition.
• Provide patient education and care for patients as prescribed. Assists patients in therapeutic activities.
• Completes vital sign monitoring per policy. Notifies appropriate mental health provider in charge of any abnormal or unusual findings in a timely manner.
• Document per clinic using proper terminology that is in accordance with clinic policy.
• Utilize sound judgment and crisis intervention skills to prevent or reverse situations which may be potentially harmful. Follows policies for management of potentially aggressive or agitated patients.
• Screen patients to determine presenting problems and priority of appointment in accordance with clinic policy.
• Institute precautionary measures to prevent patient injuries due to suicide or homicide in accordance with clinic policy.
• Assist in the facilitation of a variety of health and wellness programs in support of the clinic.
• Assist in or arrange for patient referral to other facilities for alternate level of care as needed.
• Provide patient privacy and comply with HIPAA.
• Practice OSHA safety standards.
• Assist with other duties as needed and assigned.
• Completion of education and experience as a behavioral science specialist/technician in the United States military and proof of having completed an Armed Forces course involving psychiatric technician training or civilian course from an accredited school in the care of behavioral health patients. One year of experience as a Psychiatric Technician after graduation
• Have and maintain current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
• Must have a High School Diploma. Be RBT, Psyc. Tech Certified, or Licensed. Completion of education and experience as a behavioral science specialist/technician in the United States military and proof of having completed an Armed Forces course involving psychiatric technician training or civilian course from an accredited school in the care of behavioral health patients. One year of experience as a Behavioral Health Technician after graduation.
• Have and maintain current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
• Shall be able to read, write, and speak English well enough to effectively communicate with patients and other staff members.
• Have knowledge of computer operations and proficiency in the use of basic word processing, data entry, and automated records.
