Administrative Coordinator/Administrative Assistant – Hartford REGIONS Staff Secure Program for Male Youth, Hartford, CT

SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-4:30 PM

COMPENSATION: $23.27/Hour

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The REGIONS Staff Secure Program is a residential treatment program for up to 8 male youth. The mission of the program is to provide a home-like environment with a trauma-informed, culturally responsive, gender-specific, linguistically appropriate, strengths-based, and relationship-driven milieu for the youth to help them improve their social, physical and emotional well-being. Our vision is to therapeutically intervene in the cycle of offending to reduce the youth's risk factors and prevent them from transitioning into the adult justice system. Our treatment philosophy is one that is individualized, designed to help the youth develop a positive self-image, learn effective coping skills, experience success, gain confidence, build positive relationships, achieve behavioral changes and re-enter their communities better equipped to succeed.

The youth in this program may have a high violence risk but it is not likely to be chronic and/or had later onset. The youth are not likely to have a history of violence nor be at risk for future violence. They are at a reduced risk to public safety and if they AWOL their behavior is not likely to involve violence or public safety risk. The youth in the REGIONS Staff Secure Program are amenable to treatment.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and demonstrated ability to perform administrative functions as described. Ability to interact with multi-cultural populations. Strong communication, emotional intelligence, teamwork, decision making, and organizational/ prioritization skills. Attention to detail and adaptability. Must share the belief that people can change and individuals in need deserve quality services and an opportunity to succeed. Must have and maintain a valid CT driver's license and reliable transportation. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide telephone coverage including screening calls and documenting messages
  • Provide general office management; maintain central filing system; order and manage office supplies and equipment
  • Attend meetings and record minutes as requested
  • Maintain and update statistical and program data
  • Audit files
  • In collaboration with the program manager and CSSD, manage program flex funds ensuring all protocols, including documentation, are in compliance
  • Coordinate and provide care that is safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and client centered
  • Conduct intakes in a timely manner with new clients
  • Maintain each client's comprehensive record through detailed documentation
  • Facilitate multiple care aspects (case coordination, information sharing, etc.)
  • Directly interact with clients to keep track of their progress in the program
  • Listen to clients' concerns and provide resources as required
  • Communicate clients' needs to a variety of care team members and follow up accordingly
  • Update clients' progress in the program
  • Operate and manage office technology
  • Assist in basic computer training of staff
  • Support new staff with obtaining Paycom and email access
  • Participate in all required training
  • Must be familiar with universal precautions and related issues including risk of communicable diseases
  • Establish and maintain professional boundaries with all staff, youth and providers
  • Serves as a role model to youth and staff modeling pro-social behaviors
  • All other duties as assigned.
